Athletes Set To Celebrate Season in NYC

New York (Oct. 23, 2015) – Athletes of the U.S. Ski Team, U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Freeskiing will join their families, friends and supporters for a night of celebration at the 49th annual New York Gold Medal Gala on Thursday, October 29 at the American Museum of Natural History. Hosted by the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Foundation, the gala is dedicated to raising funds to support the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association’s (USSA) elite teams and members.

Over 20 athletes are scheduled to attend the event, including Olympic medalists Bode Miller, Kelly Clark and Gus Kenworthy, 2015 World Cup champions Kiley McKinnon and Mac Bohonnon, and Team alumni Trace Worthington, Picabo Street and Jonny Moseley. Athletes will also be attending a season kick-off celebration hosted by Bomber on October 28 as well as a pre-gala style session with Paul Mitchell at Raika Studio on the 29th.

October 22, 2015 (Midway, UT) – The Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation and Soldier Hollow Legacy Foundation released a joint committee report outlining considerations and process steps to integrate Soldier Hollow under Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation oversight. With shared Olympic heritage and complementary missions, the two foundations represent active sport venues from the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games and 2002 Paralympic Winter Games.

Sport Technologist High Performance Department

 

Position Summary
The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association's Sport Technologist is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating sport technology support to USSA athletes and teams.  Therefore, he or she must:
• Lead and collaborate on the development, implementation and critical evaluation of applied sport technology projects to enhance sport performance
• Evaluate existing and new technologies that can enhance sport performance
• Lead on the development and implementation of data capture, data storage and data analytic solutions for USSA

PARK CITY, UT (Oct. 13, 2015) – In what will prove to be a historic step forward for the ski and snowboard industry, the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) and the Professional Ski Instructors Association-American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI) are now working under a letter of agreement to further collaborate in the interest of professional development. The two organizations have been working together more closely in recent years, with leaders of the U.S. Ski Team, USSA Sport Education and U.S. Ski Team athletes benefitting from deep professional connections with key PSIA-AASI personnel.
