Jaelin Kauf has been making her way up the ranks in mogul skiing since her first FIS competitions in 2010. She had a break out year on the World Cup tour in 2016, landing her first career podium and taking home the Rookie of the Year title. Jaelin's success continued in 2017 where she scored her first career win, a World Championships bronze medal and finished the season ranked seventh in the world.

Steamboat local Ryan Dyer started off in an alpine racing program, but he kept sneaking off to ski moguls. Dyer made the switch to freestyle at age 12, and decided to pursue his Olympic dreams full time after high school. Dyer made the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team in 2010, but fell back in the ranks in 2013 due to injury. After a lot of physical and mental work, Dyer dominated the NorAm tour in 2015, earning four first-place podiums and the overall title, landing him back on the national team. He complemented his success on the NorAm tour with two top-20 World Cup finishes.

Tess Johnson, who was the youngest moguls athlete to be named to the national team at 14 years old, is already making a name for herself on the freestyle moguls scene. The 2014-15 season was the first year Johnson was eligible for FIS competitions. In that first year, she skied to five top-10 finishes on the NorAm Tour, including two podiums, as well as two top-10 finishes at the FIS Junior World Ski Championships. The young skier continued to progress in 2016 with five NorAm podiums, including two wins to help her secure the Grand Prix title.

Athletes  »  Nessa Dziemian

After a few years stacking up impresive finishes on the NorAm circuit, New Hampshire native Nessa Dziemian has a break out year in 2015, capturing the NorAm title and two podiums at U.S. Nationals, including the dual moguls title. She's continued to see success at the World Cup level with six top-10 finishes. Dziemian suffered a knee injury in February 2017, but is rehabbing and plans to come back strong for the 2018 Olympic season.

Growing up in Long Beach, NY, Tom Rowley has spend a lot of time on the sand and the snow. After pursuing both football and skiing in high school, Rowley moved to Telluride, CO after graduation to pursue skiing full time and put all his efforts into making the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team. After two years in Telluride, that dream came true. 2015 was a break out season for Rowley, who made a last minute trip to Ruka, Finland to ski in the World Cup opener where he finished just off the podium in fourth.

Young Morgan Schild has established herself as one of the stars of the U.S. Ski Team. After securing the 2014 overall NorAm tour title with five wins, Schild kicked things up a notch during her first year on the national team, taking home three top-10 World Cup finishes, including her first dual moguls World Cup win in Tazawako, Japan. Her performance on the World Cup circuit earned her the 2015 FIS World Cup Rookie of the Year title. After recovering from a knee injury in the 2015-16 season, Schild return to competition in 2017.

Sophia Schwartz is no rookie to moguls skiing. All her hard work paid off in the form of a first-place finish at the 2013 U.S. Freestyle Championships in Heavenly, CA.  She also racked up an impressive lineup of NorAm results, which included two wins. Schwartz took her NorAm success and translated it into World Cup success in the 2014 season. She secured a top-10 finish in every World Cup she started, including a fourth-place finish in Lake Placid, NY, and a pair of sixth-place finishes in La Plagne, France, and Val St. Come, QC.

In his rookie season on the World Cup in 2014, Troy Murphy had nine starts and earned two fifth-place finishes, which was enough to win the FIS Rookie of the Year award for 2014. He continued to excel in 2015 with four top-10 finishes, including a career-best fourth place in Val. St. Come, Canada. Murphy ended his season with a moguls national title. 2016 was challenging for Murphy as he battled through multiple injuries, but he was able to post two top 10 finished on the World Cup. Murphy continued to progress in 2017 with six top-10 finishes and a sixth in the world ranking.
