Heidi Kloser has been a sport fanatic since day one. Almost immediately she realized her true love for skiing. As soon as she was able to rip up the slopes, Kloser was headed right for the bumps and jumps.

Six years after her introduction to skiing, she entered her first moguls competition at the age of seven. Kloser tore into her World Cup rookie season in 2010 with four consecutive top-15 finishes, earning her the FIS World Cup women’s moguls Rookie of the Year title. In 2012 Kloser notched a career-high fourth-place World Cup result on home snow in Deer Valley and then scored another top-ten to make the World Cup top 20 in the season standings. Flash forward to 2014 and Kloser was walking in the Opening Ceremony in Sochi, Russia. Although a training crash on the Olympic course dashed her 2014 Olympic dreams and kept her out for the 2015 season, Kloser has her eyes set on 2018 and is no doubt one of the strongest skiers on the U.S. Ski Team.

FIRST TRACKS

Kloser began slaying the hill at the ripe age of one with her father at Vail, CO. “Growing up in Vail gave me so many opportunities to excel in sports,” she says. “I raced in the town mountain bike series and the town Nordic series. I got my start in moguls competitions in Vail's Mogul Mania events at age seven. I was hooked. My dad had competed in moguls and owned and operated the World Pro Mogul Tour in the 1980's, so it is in my blood.” 

OFF THE SNOW

Kloser has always done a lot of mountain and road biking and grew up climbing the Colorado 14ers with her family. “I like to play ball sports, I find them fun and good training,” she says. “I also enjoy nordic skiing, kayaking and anything adventurous.”
