Sprint Titles to Mitrani, Gold

PARK CITY, UT (Feb. 1) - FIS World Champion Arielle Gold (Steamboat Springs, CO) and veteran Luke Mitrani (Mammoth Lakes, CA) took home season halfpipe titles as the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix came to a close at Park City. The riders each pocketed $20,000 from seres sponsor Sprint.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Luke Mitrani (Mammoth Lakes, CA) and Arielle Gold (Steamboat Springs, CO) were crowned Sprint U.S. Grand Prix season halfpipe champions following their podium finishes in the final Grand Prix halfpipe of the season in Park City.
  • Mitrani rode to third, Gold to second to clinch the stop spot in the series and with it U.S. Championship titles along with a $20,000 check from Sprint.
  • Mitrani, who had been second in Copper Mountain last month, took a 1,400-1,050 margin over Louie Vito (Sandy, UT).
  • Gold moved up from fifth in Copper to finish second in Park City.
  • The Sprint U.S. Grand Prix wraps up in early March at Canyons Resort with skicross and snowboardcross.
