SEEFELD, Austria (Jan. 16, 2015) - Germany’s Eric Frenzel continued where he left off in last year’s inaugural Seefeld Triple, winning his sixth straight FIS Nordic Combined World Cup in Seefeld. Billy Demong (Vermontville, NY) moved up from 30th in the jump to 28th after the 5k cross country. The Seefeld Triple is an innovative nordic combined mini-tour with each day a slightly different combination of jumping and cross country.
Stage one featured a 5k cross country. Stage two on Saturday will be a traditional 10k with Sunday featuring two jumps and a 15k cross country.
“It is cool to have a mini-tour type of event,” said Head Coach Dave Jarrett. “Last year wasn’t that interesting as Eric Frenzel dominated on the hill and increased his lead every comp. This year it is tighter and we will see how it shakes out tomorrow. We are psyched that all four guys will be able to start Saturday.”
Taylor Fletcher (Steamboat Springs, CO) moved up from 44th in jumping to 34th with the 13th fastest cross country time. Bryan Fletcher (Steamboat Springs, CO) ended up 38th with Adam Loomis (Eau Claire, WI) 50th - just making the cut for Saturday.

Today wasn’t exactly what we were looking for but we live to fight another day! Looking for better jumps and better racing tomorrow.
It is cool to have a mini-tour type of event. Last year wasn’t that interesting as Eric Frenzel dominated on the hill and increased his lead every comp. This year it is tighter and we will see how it shakes out tomorrow.
The whole triple is weighted more on the jumping side - we use the same points per minute for both the 5k and 10k cross country.
We are psyched that all four guys will be able to start tomorrow. Billy, Taylor and Bryan are not far away in the overall time back. Top 30 from tomorrow’s race start on Sun.
