QUOTES
Ted Ligety
First run wasn't super smooth but I skied down without any major mistakes, so I'm happy with that. I need to figure out why Hirscher is beating everybody by six-tenths on the bottom, but so far the skiing in slalom is getting better and better.

The skiing is there for the most part, so as long as I can cut out some of the mistakes just because of my lack of volume.

Nolan Kasper
It wasn't a good day. That's how it goes sometimes. It's a tough sport and a lot of guys are fast so some days you're on it and some days you're not.

I'm feeling better, I've got some more energy, but it was a tough day with the snow, the course, the light. It was just not my day.

There's a lot to look forward to, some of my favorite hills - Kitzbuehel, Schladming and Kransjka. We've got a lot of great races coming up the next month or so.

Ted is figuring out his slalom setup and is skiing well, it's fun to see.

TV
Universal Sports will air the men's slalom at noon and 4 p.m. ET
