Hudak Still Hopeful After Injury

BRECKENRIDGE, CO (Dec. 13) – Freeskiing champion Jen Hudak (Park City, UT), six-time X Games medalist and the face of her sport of halfpipe skiing since it burst onto the Olympic stage, is still hopeful for a shot at the Olympic Team following a crash at the Dew Tour on Wednesday. Hudak suffered a torn meniscus and partially torn anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee. She is planning to continue evaluation with Dr. Tom Hackett at The Steadman Clinic in Vail. Hudak hopes that a best-case scenario would have her back on skis for one of the final Olympic qualifying events in January.

• Freeskiing champion Jen Hudak (Park City, UT), a six-time X Games medalist and two-time champion, is still hopeful for a shot at the Olympic Team following a training crash at the Dew Tour.
• Hudak suffered a torn meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament to her left knee. She is planning to continue evaluation with Dr. Tom Hackett at The Steadman Clinic in Vail. She was making a comeback after injuring her right knee in 2012, returning to action at last February’s X Games in Aspen.
• The Connecticut native, who now lives in Park City, is hopeful that a best-case scenario would have her back on skis for one of the final Olympic qualifiers Jan. 6-11 at Northstar California or Jan. 15-18 at Park City Mountain Resort. That timetable will be determined after continued evaluation.
• Hudak has been the face of freeskiing since its Olympic debut was announced in 2011. In 2010, she swept X Games gold in Aspen and Tignes, France.
