ASPEN, CO (Jan. 29, 2016) – American Bobby Brown (Breckenridge, CO) scored a silver medal in X Games Big Air under challenging, snowy conditions Saturday night. It was Brown’s sixth X Games medal.

Brown was sandwiched by the Swiss, as Fabian Bosch—who was third in December’s 2015 Dew Tour Breckenridge—took the gold, and Elias Ambuhl grabbed bronze, his fourth X Games Big Air medal.

There was a major winter storm bearing down on Aspen as the competition progressed and the snow was sticky and slow. The skiers still managed to get the Big Air competition off, however, and Brown used two huge tricks—a left triple 1440 and a left double misty 1080 bow and arrow—to earn silver.

“It was an interesting day,” said Brown. “It was dumping—we ended up getting the contest going and getting a few good tricks. It is what it is. The crowd is epic. I have my family and friends out here and it’s always a good time.”

Next up for skiing at X Games Aspen is Men’s Ski Slopestyle on Sunday, in which Brown will have another chance to medal.
