OBERSTDORF, Germany (Jan. 24, 2015) - American Nita Englund (Florence, WI) continued her rise up through the results with a career best seventh in a FIS Ski Jumping World Cup in Oberstdorf. Austria’s Daniela Iraschko-Stolz picked up a strong win over Germany’s Carina Voigt.

Englund, who jumped to second in Friday’s qualifying round, soared 95.0 meters on her first ride to take fifth, dropping back slightly on the second jump going 88.5 meters.

Jessica Jerome (Park City, UT) was 16th and Sarah Hendrickson (Park City, UT) 17th. It was Hendrickson’s first competition round at Oberstdorf since suffering a knee injury there in training in August, 2013.

Englund had been struggling all week in training and was surprised at how it came together for her on Saturday. "I was really struggling earlier this week and i didn't know what to do," she said. "I am as genuinely surprised as anyone else that I switched around and was able to have some good jumps."
