COPPER MOUNTAIN, CO. (Dec. 9) — U.S. Freeskiing Pro Halfpipe Team member Devin Logan (West Dover, VT) qualified second for Friday afternoon's final behind Canada's Rosalind Groenewoud at the Visa U.S. Freeskiing Grand Prix at Copper Mountain. Team members Brita Sigourney (Carmel, CA) and Jen Hudak (Park City, UT) also punched their tickets to the podium round of the season's first North American halfpipe competition—and first FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup sanctioned Grand Prix event—as competitors with the top 12 scores from Friday morning's best of two run qualifier made the cut. Women's and men's halfpipe skiing finals start at noon.

QUOTES

I'm skiing great - it's great to get back into it. I'm feeling good for another year. We've got a really good pool of competitors today. The pipe is awesome, it's fast and I like it.

Brita Sigourney
I had a bit of a tough first run, all these girls are throwing down high level tricks. It's definitely awesome to see so many girls out here killing it. It's super fun today. The pipe is the nicest it's been all week.

Jen Hudak
Qualifiers stress me out! It's a totally different mindset. You gotta make sure you land well and get into finals, and then you can let it go. They have added more vert [to the pipe] over the past two days. It's a really precise line between too open and too much vert.
