After crushing the U18 Championships on the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center at Copper Mountain, CO, Team Academy grad and Squaw Valley’s Stephanie Lebby was all but assured a spot on the U.S. Development Team for 2015. She sealed the deal with a solid slalom result at the main event U.S. Championships later that spring on her home hill. A smattering of International experience earlier in the season was also a big boost.

FIRST TRACKS: Growing up in Southern California, Stephanie Lebby first hopped on snow at the mere age of one. Four years after that she was encouraged to join the Snow Summit Development Team in Big Bear Lake, California for a fun activity on the weekends. “When I was 13 I realized that skiing was something I really wanted to pursue but I needed a bigger mountain.  My family moved to Truckee, California where I became a member of the Squaw Valley Ski Team.  At Squaw I fell in love with skiing even more and it confirmed to myself that skiing is what I want to do.” From there she was invited to be a member of the USSA Team Academy and made the move to Park City where she lived with a host family. She has been skiing with the USSA Team Academy/National Training Group for the past couple years.

OFF THE SNOW: Stephanie graduated this spring from the USSA Team Academy in Park City, Utah. Whenever she’s not skiing you can find her there taking classes from Calculus to Art. She also enjoys spending time in Big Bear Lake, California where she spends her days out on the lake, or hiking and biking in the area’s mountainous terrain.
