Green Mountain Valley School alum Sandy Vietze made the jump to the U.S. Development Team for the 2012 season along with fellow GMVS grad Brian McLaughlin. Two seasons later, the duo made the leap to the C Team in the same bound to open the 2014 season. While Vietze's early career showed more promise in slalom, the 2013 season was one of speed, with his best results coming in downhill and super G. He really showed promise in downhill, closing out the competition year ranked 25th in the NorAm standings. However, a good result in giant slalom (23rd) at the Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships at Squaw Valley didn't hurt either. |
