Lyon Farrell has action sports stardom in his genes. Lyon's father is a legendary big-wave surfer and his mother was a two-time Windsurfing World Champion who won a gold medal at the first-ever X Games. Lyon started out skateboarding and surfing from a young age in his hometown of Haiku, Maui, but it was learning to snowboard in his father’s home country of New Zealand when he was 10 years old where he truly found his calling. After a training camp in Breckenridge, Colorado when he was 12, the young Hawaiian started entering slopestyle and halfpipe contests, eventually earning second place at USSA Nationals in 2013 and second and fourth place finishes at FIS Junior Worlds in 2014. In 2016 Farrell found the top of the podium at the Seven Springs stop of the U.S. Revolution Tour and he also placed third at the Volkl World Rookie Finals in Austria.
