In the final race of the U.S. Alpine Championships Tuesday in Sugarloaf, Maine, Hig Roberts (Steamboat Springs, CO) edged out seven-time National Champion Tim Jitloff (Reno, NV – U.S. Ski Team) for the giant slalom national title.
USA struggled in Wednesday’s rescheduled Audi FIS Ski World Cup slalom in Santa Caterina, Italy, with no American skiers making the flip.
David Chodounsky (Crested Butte, CO) popped into the top 10 in Tuesday’s evening slalom.
Giant slalom specialist Tim Jitloff threw down on bumpy snow at the Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships to take his third national title in a row.
The NorAm Finals wrapped on Monday in Waterville Valley, NH and Burke Mountain, VT with Michael Ankeny, Tim Kelley, Paula Moltzan, Megan McJames and Tommy Ford qualifying for World Cup starts and Michael Ankeny taking the overall win.

After a successful four years of collegiate ski racing for Middlebury and a stint with Team America and coach Peter Lange during the 2015 season, Hig Roberts rocketed to the U.S. Ski Team B Team. His collegiate career featured two NCAA team slalom championships and an appearance at the 2013 World University Games. During the 2015 season, Hig snagged a third place at the NorAm Cup Finals in giant slalom, and he capped his successful season off with a sixth place finish at U.S. Nationals. |
