Aspen native Alex Ferreira jumpstarted his freeskiing career with a bronze-medal performance on his hometown turf at X Games Aspen in 2014. Since then Ferreira has gone on to earn to earn two additional X Games medals--another bronze at X Games Aspen in 2015 and silver at the most recent X Games Oslo in 2016. Known for his contagious smile and strong work ethic, Ferreira has technical ability and amplitude that matches the best of them. He linked three double corks in his 2015 X Games Aspen run and at Oslo in 2016 he used four total doubles to earn the silver. A good friend of fellow Aspen native and U.S. Freesking teammate Torin Yater-Wallace, Ferreira has sport in his blood--his father, Marcelo, is a former professional soccer player for Argentina's River Plate team. Ferreira was first a mogul skier with the Aspen Valley Ski Club, but says it was "all over" once he noticed park riding. FIRST TRACKS OFF THE SNOW |
