Young gun Abigale Hansen, or “Abi” as her friends call her, made a name for herself on the freeskiing scene in 2012-2013 by bagging three podiums in halfpipe on the Revolution Tour as well as a third place in halfpipe at The North Face Park and Pipe Open Series at Northstar. Hansen stepped up to the pro halfpipe skiing circuit in the 2014 season at the young age of 15. The Mammoth Lakes native, known for her amplitude in the pipe, showed impressive results during her rookie debut, earning an invite to the 2014 Grand Prix and Dew Tour, which were qualification events for the U.S. Olympic Team. Hansen had a solid performance against the sport’s top pros at the Grand Prix, including a sixth in Park City, and she gained valuable competition experience for winters to come. Hansen returned to the Revolution tour later in the season and nabbed a first and second place at both Sun Valley stops, ending up second overall in the Revolution Tour halfpipe standings. With two Rev Tour wins in the 2016 season, Hansen is on a roll and has her sights locked on her lifelong goal to compete in the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang. FIRST TRACKS OFF THE SNOW |
