COPPER MOUNTAIN, CO (Dec. 8) – The 2013 U.S. Snowboarding Team halfpipe and slopestyle teams, led by Olympians Kelly Clark (West Dover, VT), Scotty Lago (Seabrook, NH), Louie Vito (Sandy, UT) and World Snowboard Tour champion Chas Guldemond (Reno, NV), was named today at Copper Mountain. The team features a world-class roster of 26 internationally ranked snowboarders. They begin their competition season with the Dew Tour Dec. 13-16 at Breckenridge followed by the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix, the first domestic FIS World Cup and a 5Star World Snowboard Tour event, Jan. 10-13 at Copper Mountain featuring halfpipe and, new for this season, slopestyle.
MAMMOTH LAKES, CA (May 9) – Fifteen of the best riders in the world, including TTR halfpipe World Champion Kelly Clark (West Dover, VT), TTR slopestyle World Champion Chas Guldemond (Reno, NV) and top slopestyle rider Eric Willett (Breckenridge, CO), are utilizing the groundbreaking airbag technology at Mammoth Mountain during a weeklong U.S. Snowboarding spring camp. The airbag allows for athletes to attempt new and difficult tricks without the consequence of landing on hard snow, but on a soft cushioned landing in the form of an inflated airbag. In addition to the airbag, U.S. Snowboarding has the run of the award winning Unbound terrain park each morning before the mountain opens to the public.
TIGNES, FRA (Mar. 16) – Olympian and double threat Shaun White (Carlsbad, CA) took his second gold at European X Games Friday in the slopestyle competition. He executed yet another almost perfect score with a 97.00 on his second run with three doubles. Jamie Anderson (South Lake Tahoe, CA) also mimicked the nearly perfect run of White to take the top spot for the women. Eric Willett (Breckenridge, CO) nailed his third run and a huge front double 1080 to put him in third position.

MAMMOTH LAKES, CA (Feb. 22) – Watch for U.S. Freeskiing and U.S. Snowboarding favorites like Tom Wallisch (Pittsburgh, PA), David Wise (Reno, NV), Matt Ladley (Chicago, IL), Chas Guldemond (Reno, NV) and more at the final stop of the 2012 Sprint U.S. Grand Prix at Mammoth Mountain, CA, February 29 – March 3. The third and final stop is a World Cup for freeskiing and a TTR 5Star ranked event with $42,000 in prize money up for grabs.
ASPEN, CO (Jan. 28) — Sage Kotsenburg (Park City, UT) grabbed the first Winter X slopestyle podium of his career with silver Saturday in Aspen behind Canadian Mark McMorris. McMorris, who also won the men's big air, became the first athlete to earn double snowboard gold at the games since Shaun White. It was the first X Games slopestyle since the event was accepted into the Olympics for 2014.
ASPEN, CO (Jan. 27) – Mark McMorris took the grand prize in the Winter X Games big air snowboard competition despite a perfect 50 on one jump from second place finisher Torstein Horgmo. Each of the pair landed a tripple cork while Eric Willett (Breckenridge, CO) ended up in fourth place.
Eric Willett emerged as an unknown, earning a silver medal at the 2010 X Games in Aspen. Since then, he has been on top and regarded as one of the best American men in slopestyle snowboarding. (Josef Šulc)
The men threw down an unbelievable podium sweep at the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix in Park City, UT. Eric Willett was first, Chas Guldemond took second and Eric Beauchemin was third. On the women’s side, Karly Shorr was second.
Olympians Seth Wescott, Nate Holland, Nick Baumgartner, and Faye Gulini lead a team of 29 top ranked athletes named to the 2013 FIS World Snowboarding Championships Team.
The Sprint U.S. Grand Prix will open its 17th season with halfpipe snowboarding and newly added Olympic sport slopestyle snowboarding at Copper Mountain Jan. 9-12.
After extreme blowing winds and snow Chas Guldemond was able to overcome the treacherous conditions and take second at Dew Tour slopestyle snowboarding finals.

Eric Willett put himself on the map with a silver-medal performance at his X Games debut in 2010. A Breckenridge native, Willett spent countless hours on a snowboard from a very early age, cruising the mountain with his younger brother. With a coveted spot on the Air+Style World Tour, Willett is sure to be a contender for a spot on the 2018 Olympic team when big air makes its Olympic debut in PyeongChang.
COPPER MOUNTAIN, CO (Dec. 9) – With a host of new action sports events on the docket for the 2014 Olympics just two years away, the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) formally announced 2011-12 U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Freeskiing teams Friday from its training facility at the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix at Copper.
The announcement includes first year teams in slopestyle snowboarding and skiing, as well as halfpipe skiing – all the result of decisions by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) earlier this year to bring the events into the 2014 Sochi Olympics. The USSA named 21 athletes to U.S. Snowboarding halfpipe and slopestyle teams, and 17 to U.S. Freeskiing.
Halfpipe athletes have had outstanding training in Copper's early-opening 22-foot pipe preparing for the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix opener this weekend at the Colorado resort.
